Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur

This was a design and build project where construction companies were invited to bid for. M/s. B G Shirke & Co. chose to appoint us as their Architect to design the same. The challenge lied in designing a huge stadium for 50,000 people capacity and elaborate club house-cum-high grade guest house facility, huge parking areas and ensuring smooth movement and evacuation of the people in shortest possible time in a given tight site of just 50 acres.

The stands of the stadium for Vidarbha Cricket Association at Nagpur are arranged like a corolla of a flower in bloom in this proposed design. Each stand is then detailed out to be a self-sufficient unit in terms of services. The roof is suspended from steel cables leaving an unobstructed column free viewer gallery underneath.
